4.6 mile run in 38 mins around Leopardstown this evening in fog and rain.

There is a direct relationship between how clearly you can see your desired goal in your mind and how quickly it becomes a reality.

Check it out for 2020.

Meditation

Great week which included delivering some mindful meditation sessions across the bank from Belfast to Dublin.

10 mile mindful  Sunday run in 1:35 during a break in the constant rain of the last 48 hours.

Great feedback from people who attended and brilliant  to see the support across the bank in supporting these initiatives. Ulster Bank  #gptw

"Thanks Brian for a great meditation session Today in CP, great to see such positive focus on wellbeing & mental health. I feel so refreshed & refocused. Please keep me updated on the next available sessions, I highly recommend that everyone take this oppertunity to attend in the future."

Being lost is worth the coming home.

Being lost is worth the coming home.

Neil Diamond

There are times when you go off track on your goals, but that's not the time to give up, it's the time to start again.

13.4 mile run on a cold Saturday afternoon in 2:08, that felt good.

Dont judge people on where they are on their particular journey.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "it is one of the beautiful compensations of life, that no man can sincerely help another without helping himself".

I had no choice.

" I had no choice, I mean what choice do I have" ?.

Sound familiar......

Sometimes we don't think we have choices because we are not aware of them.

7 mile Saturday evening run in 1:04 as torrential rain forecast for 6pm.

I had a choice to not run or to go early and chase the dark clouds and growing wind or sit on the couch. Which choice will help you work on your goals?.

When you think you don't have a choice that's when you need to dig a little deeper sometimes the most obvious is the best option.

Looking forward to speaking in Scotland next week on the importance of Positive Mental health in reaching your Personal and Business goals.

Laugh loud and laugh often

Laugh loud and laugh often

We feel good when we laugh, it floods the bloodstream with happy hormones, endorphins, which bring about powerful feel-good sensations.

7 mile Wednesday night run in 1:04 through lashing rain that provided endorphins and powerful feel good sensations too.

Mix with happy people and share your sense of humour.

We make it all up this thing called life.

We make it all up this thing called life.

Love yourself unconditionally and watch what happens to you, around you, and to others.

4.6 mile Monday lunchtime run in torrential rain as I trailed my speedy pals colleagues and fellow marathoners Michael Walsh, Ronan O'Byrne Prof.Banker Anthony Hamilton today finishing in 38 mins just a bit behind.

We move to higher degrees of wellness when we focus on what we want and not what we don't.

I enjoyed that one today. Thanks guys.

Expect more from yourself in 2020.

Do you think it's possible that you could make this coming year the happiest and best year of your life?.

Depending on the stats you may read we are better off now than previous generations but not happier with depression, anxiety, separations all on the rise.

9 Mile run in 1:25 Sunday afternoon between showers.

According to the American journal of clinical nutrition a 29 minute walk a day can reduce your risk of early death by up to 30 per cent.

Expect more from yourself in 2020 take some time to think about it.

What is a helper? A thought for my last marathon.

What do you think when you hear the term helper?

It's usually an unskilled worker who assists a skilled worker. A bit demeaning I'm sure you will agree.

26.2 mile run finishing the Dublin marathon today 15 mins faster than 2018 and a run to bring my marathon and Ultra Marathon running career to an end due to a long term hip injury. Great to see my family surprise me at mile 18 and share some hugs. Emotional.

Why not think of a helper as a partner, an ally, a supporter, a backer.

There was many helpers today during the marathon, the volunteers, the runners helping each other along the way , and the crowd urging us on with motivational words and signs, yep they were all in it together as allies, backers, supporters, partners.

So next time someone refers to a person as a helper remember there's more to it.

I will continue to run 10 mile and half marathons as my injury allows but I'll keep my promise that was my last marathon.

Write down your goals for 2020.
