Stay safe.

Looking forward to next week with myself, wife, son all working from home and my daughter doing her uni work. Full house.

Take some time out for yourself during the day, tell yourself you are fantastic.

10km TM run today.

Late night calm cup of tea in garden looking at the moon and the stars.

Stay safe.

Choices and values for humans

Choices and values for humans.

Why do two people faced with the same decision, make different choices, why does one seize the opportunity and trive and the other languishes.

The reason "why" you value something is probably more important to " what" you value, right and wrong values therefor are inherently personal.

Some people can follow the instructions like social distancing some can not. Some can stay IN some will not, some follow the instructions some will not.

We are called human beings for many reasons, because we have a developed brain, the ability to reason and rationalise and articulate through speech. It's what differentiates us from animals.

We have seen recently highly motivated people do unsavoury down right toxic and destructive things to fellow humans mostly vulnerable in a desire for nothing more than fame on social media.

We have learned a lot in the past few weeks and thankfully it's more positive than negative as more and more people help each other, and I expect we will see more positive news stories and events.

7 mile run this evening in 1:04 with more runners around rather than traffic. Spooky!!

We have time now to think about our goals during these tough times it's never too late to craft a plan to start.

Stay positive and stay safe.

You can’t out run the past.

You can't out run the past, you can try, but it's always there, but sometimes even if you run faster it catches up with you.

Now is a good time to box off the past and be in the present, to be what we can be, to be the best we can be for ourselves and for others.

Don't stress too much about the future and in that I mean the next few weeks not years, be in control of what you can control and try not to worry about the things you can't control.

5 mile lunchtime run in glorious sunshine in Dublin.

Thanks to my pal, colleague and fellow marathoner Ronan O'Byrne Prof.Banker for the call today to check in that all was good in the Kennedy household, much appreciated,

we miss our runs.

Be grateful and take care

In 2018 when my mum was dying in the hospice there was a total lockdown of visitors due to an outbreak of highly contagious influenza.

I will be eternally grateful to have been allowed to visit although only if you were gowned up fully. I watched others visiting relatives through the closed window's talking on mobile phones wondering why I could go in and they could not, I felt very guilty.

My heart goes out to the people in other countries who are not getting the opportunity to say goodbye, or even be at a funeral.

When I was 3 months old I got pneumonia I survived but my twin sister died, health services have moved on a lot since then but what's happening now around the world is a wake up call for everyone.

Please take the medical advice seriously, take your information from reputable sources and call out those morons who do not.

Do the best for your family and fellow humans because at the end of the day that's what it's all about.

Be grateful, tell your loved ones you love them and take care. 7 mile run in sunny Dublin with lots of social distancing of 2 metres as everyone was giving way to each other along the way.

Strength and Courage

Last Sunday was a bit surreal as I read the Word of God to an empty church in Mount Argus but to many on the Web the world over.

Just as we look after our physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing Faith, Hope and Charity is never more in need through the present crisis.

7 mile run in eerie calm, quiet and dark Dublin tonight.

Some beautiful words from Pope Francis recently whatever your faith or belief we can all take something from this:

“Tonight before falling asleep think about when we will return to the street.

When we hug again, when all the shopping together will seem like a party.

Let's think about when the coffees will return to the bar, the small talk, the photos close to each other.

We think about when it will be all a memory but normality will seem an unexpected and beautiful gift.

We will love everything that has so far seemed futile to us.

Every second will be precious.

Swims at the sea, the sun until late, sunsets, toasts, laughter.

We will go back to laughing together.

Strength and courage.

Take responsibility.

Take responsibility

Tough times at moment with this virus some people listen to advice some don't. How often do you pretend to listen? Do you listen with full attention?

History is full of tough times. At this present moment we are all in this together for a positive outcome.

If you want a relationship to work - any relationship - to succeed, you have to approach it with the attitude of putting something in rather than taking something out.

Leaders will be tested with their communication skills over the coming days and weeks its important we listen, and everyone hears the message.

7 mile run in 1:03 .

Remember your dream.

Remember your dream

I stood at the grave of my twin sister with my mother one day as a teenager  just realising how special it was to be a twin and why I always felt someone was with me.

My mother leaned in and said " Son, always remember you have everything inside you to help you reach your dreams" .

Occasionally throughout my varied  business career and football career that included a successful trial in the UK those words would come back to me.

In support of Corporate Wellness program's I speak about the key to reaching your goals and dreams  is to live in the present, be mindful and to take time to believe in yourself.
Only then you will find your passion and bring your dream back to life.

4.6 mile lunchtime run with my colleague and pal Gary Duffy on a  sunny yet chilly Dublin Friday.

If you think it and believe it, then you can do it.

Don’t waste your pain

Don't waste your pain

During life you will experience disappointment, setbacks and loss.

Running 13.4 miles tonight my thoughts of pain in life as my hip didn't want to play ball after mile 10.

I remembered some of the pain I've endured,
-7  armed robberies in a banking career guns to my head, knifes to my throat,
-Disappointments /setbacks in chasing promotions at times in a  career.
- Loss of my parents as I watched them take their last breath on this earth.
- My house burning down in 2015,
- Suffering mental exhaustion in 2010.

Sometimes things in life  don't make sense but what I've learned and in my  support talks to corporate wellness programmes I explain its important to trust in the painful times, its only part of the wider big picture of your life that will come together.

You can get through it and come out with a new passion, a new power and the ability to grow from the pain.

You can do it and if you need help in the painful times don't be afraid to ask for help.

Follow your dreams, you can do it.

Worry, trying to solve a problem that has never happened!!

Worry : Trying to solve a problem that has never happened.

Worry is a thief, it will rob you of your sleep at night, of your creativity, of your humour.

If you allow it, it will keep you from reaching your goals and your destiny.
You can't make good decisions when you worry.

In my support for corporate wellness program's I can show you that when you are at peace on the inside you can get the right perspective and therefore guard your mind.

13.2 mile run in 2:08 on a chilly night in Dublin, exercise great for mental health.
